New Lens = Frustration

I decided to get a lens out that came with the package that Chris purchased when he bought the camera. It seemed like a great idea but just left me with lots of frustration. This lens is much more powerful and in turn has taken some getting used to. I think it could work to my advantage with some more practice. Still a little frustrated with how these turned out, but ill keep reading and practicing..Because PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!! Right...or at least that's what I am telling myself :)

So everyone meet Miss Millie

Kicking myself because if I could get this focus issue under control this would have been amazing!!!

And saving the best for last I would say this one turned out best!!!

Until next time...
I'm off to Practice

Flash!!!!

Sunday I got my first attempt on photography on someone other than my kiddos or my nieces.
My cousin and her husband are expecting a bundle of joy in February. My five year old came along to help mommy and look after all the props. She is such a great helper. I couldn't of been more excited for the opportunity. I have been reading up as much as possible on the best techniques and lighting. I have a long way to go but here is some of my first attempts....

Lights Camera Action

So my lovely husband purchased a wonderful camera for me last Christmas. I had complete intentions of taking tons of photos of the kiddos. Even dreams of maybe doing a little bit of photography on the side...I mean I can be a pro based on my photography board on Pinterest right!!! I took a lot of pictures, but the thing that was holding me back was no photo editing program :(. We have quite the dino sitting in a basement and our netbook isn't exactly ideal for any photography software. Sooo I had quite a dilemma. To purchase a new desk top or not. We looked around but just hadn't quite decided to take the plunge. While having that wonderful chat with my friend, At Home With Sweet Tea, she mentioned PicMonkey. So today after a trip to the park I decided, what the heck lets take a stab at it!!! This program by no means is the Adobe Photoshop I long for. I think it is a great beginner tool. So here they are...Not perfect by all means but a work in progress.

My beautiful sister and my nieces

Not to shabby I don't think for my first attempts...with a lot of practice i just might be able to turn this into an addiction as large as my Pinterest addiction
Until next time.....

One Year Anniversary

So tonight I was chatting with a good friend of mine who lives in southern Indiana. During our usual chatty conversation I asked what she had been up to. She said, blogging, taking care of the kids, you know the usual. Like that it hit me.... that blog, you know the one you started oh who knows about a year ago. Wonder whatever happened to that and like that I got on here and there it was. Patiently waiting.....

So here's my year in recap....

Still super busy being a full time working mom.
I am now a proud mother to a kindergartner
A Watson Eagle to be exact
This was her first day of school. One very hard day full of tears for this Momma. I am very thankful that we have found the perfect little family to watch over our little eagle before and after school. A BIG shout out to Becky and Paul Yoder. Becky is a wonderful kind hearted woman that opens her home to kids before and after school.

Remember that sweet little 7 month old I went on and on about...Well he is now my little monster!!!

ALL BOY

I haven't accomplished all my goals a talked about in my first blog one year ago. But what I can say, I am working hard at getting there while juggling this crazy schedule of life I have gotten myself into..... More to come
P.S. I promise to blog much sooner than one year next time
